The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has declared that the same players will be on the team for the three-match T20I series against Pakistan, which will start on July 20 at the Shere-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
The team is still the same as the one that just beat Sri Lanka 2-1 in a three-match T20I series on Sri Lankan soil. After the series win, Najmul Abedeen Fahim, the BCB’s Chairman of Cricket Operations, talked about how the board picks teams. He stressed the importance of stability before the T20 World Cup.
“It’s a different story if changes need to be made, but we want things to stay the same until the World Cup and not try new things that don’t need to be tried.” Fahim said, “It’s important for the team to be stable.”
The Pakistan squad, led by Salman Ali Agha, got to Dhaka on July 16 to take part in the series. There are a lot of big changes to the team, and Ahmed Daniyal and Salman Mirza will both make their international debuts.
Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf are two important players who won’t be there because of injury. Hasan Ali is also missing because he is presently playing for the Birmingham Bears in the Men’s Vitality Blast.
Shadab had surgery on his right shoulder in the UK not long ago. This was a problem that kept coming up and getting in the way of his performances.
Rauf, on the other hand, hurt his hamstring in a Grade 1 way while playing for the San Francisco Unicorns in the ongoing 2025 Major League Cricket (MLC) season. The first T20I match will take place on July 20, and the second and third matches will take place on July 22 and 24, respectively.
Pakistan won 3-0 at home the last time these two teams played, which was in May 2025.
