With the milestone major achievement, Mohammad Abbas has yet again proved his worth in Pakistan’s Test bowlers. Batting in the second Test for the first day against Bangladesh in Sylhet Mohamed Abbas took 100 wickets away from home.
The right-arm man had made this breakthrough by getting the Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto dismissed. The batter was trapped in the air behind, providing Abbas with another important breakthrough in the game. This wicket did not only help Pakistan in the match but also in the history of the 36-year-old bowler.
Abbas had already made a strong start in the match when he dismissed both Bangladeshi openers Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Tanzid Hasan. He was constantly pressing the opposition from the beginning of the innings with his line and length.
Mohammad Abbas has now become the sixth Pakistan bowler with 100 or more wickets claimed in away matches. He now has an exclusive company of great Pakistan pacers to his name who have played in various countries and tough conditions.
This feat showcases Abbas’ solid and dependable Test bowling prowess. His ability is not simply in his pace but also in his accuracy, seam movement and patience as a bowler, which is something that distinguishes him from his flashier counterparts. These attributes have proved him to be effective even on non-grippery surfaces.
