How Did PSL 11 Reach Record Profit Growth?

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has achieved a new milestone in terms of financial growth for PSL 11, as it briefed a committee of the Senate on record-breaking profits of its latest season. This has been largely driven by the league’s expansion and increased commercial organisation.

The profit of PSL has increased drastically as it is estimated to be more than Rs 7.5 billion in the first season compared to Rs 2 billion in the previous seasons, said the officials of PCB. This is one of the best money-making campaigns in league history.

The total gross revenue of the league exceeded Rs 10.19bn, and total expenditure was at more than Rs 2.64bn, the Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat was informed. This resulted in a pre-tax profit of more than Rs 7.54 billion for the 11th edition.

One of the factors that contributed to this expansion was the number of franchises that grew to eight. The new teams also added to the overall level of market engagement and provided new commercial opportunities. Valuations of broadcasting rights were pushed up, the number of sponsorship deals continued to grow and franchise-based income became a lot stronger.

Authorities also presented comparative data, which revealed a steady upward trend. The profit in PSL 2024 was Rs 2.46 billion and of PSL 2025 it was around Rs 2 billion. The PSL 11’s new jump has been attributed to the commercial ramp-up and investor confidence in the league.

The PSL is becoming a well-organized sports business system from a market point of view. Providing revenue from multiple media rights, sponsorships and franchise operations provides less reliance on any one revenue stream and enhances financial stability.
