On Wednesday, India skipper Suryakumar Yadav expressed his excitement for the high-octane ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 match against archrivals Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
Former champions India won a record-breaking match against UAE here to start Asia Cup 2025. India’s bowling team bowled UAE out for 57 in 13.1 overs after fielding first, powered by left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav’s four-wicket haul.
India easily chased the 58-run mark with one wicket and 93 balls to spare. At the post-match presentation, Yadav said he bowled first to assess the surface in the second innings before praising the team’s performance.
See how the wicket was playing. It repeated in the second innings. The boys’ clinical performance and field energy met our expectations, Yadav said. Before praising Kuldeep, the right-handed hitter said the players were aware of the conditions here, referencing their recent ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 visit.
“The wicket looked good but was slower, so spinners had a role. Many boys were here for the Champions Trophy. “Kuldeep did well, got good support from Hardik, Dube and Bumrah here in this hot weather,” the Indian captain said.
Yadav then praised top-ranked T20I batter Abhishek Sharma for setting the ‘tone’ for chasing down the target in 4.3 overs before expressing his excitement for the mega match against Pakistan.
He is the world’s top hitter because he sets the tone, whether we chase 200 or 50. Incredible. Our game against Pakistan excites everyone.”
