The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has auctioned the international media rights of the upcoming 11 th edition. Nonetheless, there are yet to be finalized broadcast rights on India. PSL 111 will be conducted between March 26 and May 3, the auction of players will be on February 11. Walee Technologies was awarded the 1 year international media rights deal excluding India.
The company achieved above the reserve price in PCB and this was 149 percent more than the last cycle. This leap shows the increasing popularity and the commercial value of the PSL in the world. PSL CEO Salman Naseer celebrated the result saying it was a milestone to the global coverage of the league.
According to him, the growth of the media rights is a testament of the competitive nature and increased fan attraction to PSL. He further stated that the demand in the international market is rising which demonstrates his optimism in the long term trend of PSL. The CEO of Walee Technologies Muhammad Ahsan Tahir was also excited by the partnership.
