PSL Expansion: Rizwan Credits Sethi Vision?

The development of PSL has again been in focus when Mohammad Rizwan commended the hard work that has seen the league consistently grow before its 11 th edition. The Pakistan Super League that started in 2016 is currently at another stage and two other teams will be added in this season.

During his speech at the captain conference, Rizwan mentioned the contribution of Najam Sethi who helped in the establishment of the tournament. He observed that the league began on positive note with a clear vision and a great support, which made it win the confidence of investors and fans. That trust has over the years, been converted into financial might and extended popularity.

The most recent expansion is an indication of such. It has added two new franchises at a high valuation, with an increased commercial confidence in the league. Rizwan admitted that this is an encouraging indicator in the Pakistan cricket. He further gave the existing Pakistan Cricket Board management the credit of developing on the original structure and through the impetus of propelling the league.

Meanwhile, Rizwan discussed issues related to the international performances of Pakistan of late. He confessed that fans are not completely satisfied with the outcomes. Nevertheless, he mentioned the PSL as one of the sources of fresh talents. In his opinion, the league still brings up young players capable of empowering the national side.

He laid stress on the fact that the problem is not that there is lack of talent but that the right team combinations should be found. After that balance is established, he feels that Pakistan can gain its competitiveness back.
