Ramiz Raja predicts PSL 10 winner

On Saturday, former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja identified the ten final Pakistan Super League (PSL) strongest teams. He considered Lahore Qalandars a good side and judged them to be a well-balanced team able of winning the championship.

Ramiz said the Qalandars’ Eliminator 2 performance was “outclassing” and said the team had greatly improved its fielding and dominated the game entirely.

“Lahore remedied their errors fast, which is somewhat unexpected. Particularly in the fielding area, their squad outclassed in batting and bowling. Though they had recently finished a match one day earlier, there were no indications of tiredness. For the Qalandars, all of these indicate good things.

The former PCB chief also commended the improvements made in the playing XI of Lahore and cautioned them not to change anything else for the last.

“The two main modifications the Lahore lineup made—especially with the Sri Lankan players included—have really helped the club. These were great decisions. The other tweaks were also really decent. My advise to Lahore is to keep this playing XI in the final exactly without any changes.

The 62-year-old advised the team to rely more on spin spinners than pacers given the scorching weather in Lahore and the flattening out character of the Gaddafi Stadium pitch after a few overs.

“Spinners will be more helpful in Lahore since the temperature is somewhat hot and the surface flattens after a few overs. Lahore Qalandars would be wise not to alter this ideal playing XI,” he advised.

According to Ramiz, Lahore is just one game away from capturing yet another PSL 10 championship. He said that all eyes will be on the Qalandars and that supporters will swarm the venue.

“Only one encounter remained in PSL 10; Lahore Qalandars have an opportunity to once more be champions. Everything will be directed on them. There will be a large gathering to cheer them on. The best thing is that Lahore’s bowling is good, their batting is strong, and their fielding has also improved,” Ramiz said.

It is crucial to note that Qalandars gave a remarkable performance in Eliminator 2 against Islamabad United, guaranteeing a 95-run triumph to get to the PSL 10 final.

United was bowled out for 107 in the knockout match contested here at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on Friday, chasing a target of 203 and thereby leaving the huge event. Played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday, Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars will square in the last of the showpiece competition.
