Shaheen Afridi Reaches 100th T20I Milestone

Another moment of pride to Pakistan cricket in the ICC Men T20 World Cup 2026 was Shaheen Afridi 100 th T20I appearance. This was the first time in the history of Pakistan that they defeated the United States in a group stage in Pakistan.

Shaheen Shah Afridi is still developing to be one of the most consistent fast bowlers in Pakistan. In 2018 he debuted in T20I against the West Indies. He has since gone on to be a fundamental member of the white-ball setup in Pakistan. His fitness and consistency are shown by the fact that he has played 100 T20I matches at the age of 25.

Shaheen was only the seventh Pakistani cricketer to play 100 or more T20I matches with this accomplishment. He became a member of an exclusive company of Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez, and Mohammad Rizwan. Babar Azam has the highest number of appearances in the format and is currently positioned on the top of the chart with 141.

His colleagues greeted Shaheen warmly even before the match. Pakistan Cricket Board also joined in when Naseem Shah offered Shaheen a commemorative cap in a moment. The hug emphasized the close camaraderie among the team and esteem Shaheen enjoys among dressing room employees.

The impact of Shaheen is highlighted by his figures. He has wacked 129 wickets in 99 T20Is that he completed with an outstanding average of 21.34. He can hit early and bowl decisive spells which has changed the momentum in many matches. Thus, he has also taken two four wicket hauls in the format.

Shaheen has done well with the bat despite being recognized by his bowling. In T20Is, he has scored 307 and has been useful in offering lower-order support.

This is another milestone that makes Shaheen Afridi a modern great of Pakistan.
